K~ So I made 12 dirty snowballs to memorialize all the snow we've gotten so far this winter- and I don't think it's over yet! My drive home at 12:30 last night in the worst part of the storm was definitely a dirrrty one!!! Good thing I made it home in one piece!
Cassie: When we first thought of this blog I thought of a dozen donuts for some reason. I feel that they are dirty and get you dirty by getting your fingers sticky. I wonder how donut sales are during January with all the new year's resolutions!!?!?! I totally walked in took the pic and walked out!

The PAST. A Dirrty Dozen Secrets! I know a dirty dozen secrets about you girls. Although I may not share them here, now, it is these memories that bond us. The simple and mundane times from high school that I hold so dear; the reunions in the last 10 years that have made the months between pass seamlessly. I realized this past New Years Eve 2011 that my comfort with all of you lies in the fact that there are few boundaries between us. Our dirty dozen secrets are the dirt that holds our friendship in place and grounds it so that it can continue growing tall...

And, THE FUTURE. A Dirrty Dozen pages of Dissertation Mess. Given that this is the January post and the beginning of the year and this blog, I can't help but reflect upon my concrete and seemingly simple goal of finishing my dissertation within this year - preferably before I am 30. At this point, I am in the middle of it, knee-deep in books and papers, trying to sort through the literature, while finishing coding videos and analyzing data. Although I wish for some reprieve and to not be at this point, with its overwhelmingly heavy burdens, I am here and need to acknowledge it. I figure, what better way than this, to post a blog (with my partner in picture), so that it is forever a testament to my goal and all of the hard work that will accompany these dirty dozen months to follow, and a reminder that the end is near! Sincerely, A.
A Dirty Dozen attempts...and a dirty dozen SOS emails to Kar, Cass, Amy, and Google.co in attempts to join this Blog as one of the Four Best Friends...and alas, I have once again proven that I am the most IT-challenged of the group! Nevertheless, I am posting the first comment on the Dirrty Dozen Blog to ensure that my presence and committment to this year-long endeavor is real and true (told you Kar!!). As we approach a new decade in our lives, those words by DMB that we heard live so many times run through my head..."celebrate we will; for life is short and sweet for certain..." Cheers to an awesome year ahead!!
